A great presentation by a
bronchitis suffering Keith Hansen follows dinner that night. His
talk on the Farralon Islands makes me want to visit this strange
foreboding bird haven. Someday... but tomorrow I will finally spend
some time birding with friends or will I? To the Stockton Sewer
Ponds led by Waldo, I carpool with Art and Janet... and about 20
other cars. It is very chilly but photography wasn't happening with
the group, so I decide to stroll behind the cars. Not trying to be
anti-social, I am now obsessed (OK, so I always was but now it is
worse! ;-0), musstt photo-graph birds... cannot stop... anyway,
obsession got me my best photo of least sandpiper. ;-) yeah!

The final day of my journey is a blur.
Les and I went out to Lodi Lake to play with our Canon cameras.
After all, Les is the one who got me hooked again on SLR
photography, he gave me some pointers on using my new toy. Such a
lovely frosty morning. Wood ducks and green-winged teal teased
us on a little lake, more poison oak to remember the adventure. :-#

A class on sketching birds
by master artist, taxidermist, and biologist John Schmitt then time to fly home.
A quick stop at the best spot to find yellow-billed magpies, the Turlock rest
stop on Hwy 99 and home to my anxious kitties. What a wonderful adventure, I
can't wait for the next one!
