KERN COUNTY BIRD SIGHTINGS REPORT Form

Please complete all information. You will be contacted in the event of a bird occurring out of season, in a new area, or if more details or documentation are needed. Always include your name, phone, and email address as well as the date of birding and location.

All birds marked with an asterisk are considered rare. Documentation may be necessary in order to have these birds added to the official records. All birds marked with a double asterisk are county records, additional sightings must be accompanied by exceptional documentation. Any bird not listed on the checklist has never been seen in Kern County, therefore can be added in the new species form below. Please provide exact details of location, time, and  description. Supporting documentation is required for new species. This can be in the form of photos, sound recordings, video recording, or really good field notes.

Please inform us immediately if any new or rare species are seen. Other birders appreciate the opportunity to view and confirm any rarities. Thank you for your time.
